Early Life & Calling to Serve

Born on April 8, 1974, in Odessa, Texas, Chris Kyle grew up with a deep love for God, country, and hard work. Raised in a Christian household, his father taught him the values of faith, responsibility, and standing up for what’s right. As a young boy, he developed exceptional marksmanship skills, which would later define his legendary career.

After a brief rodeo career was cut short due to injury, Kyle found a higher calling—serving his nation in the most elite military unit: the United States Navy SEALs.

Service & Becoming "The Legend"

Chris Kyle enlisted in the Navy in 1999 and completed SEAL training, later becoming a sniper in SEAL Team 3. Over four combat deployments to Iraq, he became the deadliest sniper in U.S. military history, with over 160 confirmed kills (though the unofficial number is much higher). His skill and fearless protection of American troops earned him the nickname “The Legend” among fellow SEALs.

Kyle’s most notable service included:
